Peter Rudolph

Peter Rudolph is the executive chef of Madera, the signature restaurant at Rosewood Sand Hill in Menlo Park. His background for such a role includes ruling the kitchens at the Taj Hotels’ famed Campton Place in San Francisco, and 10 years with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. Chef Rudolph lives in San Francisco with his wife, Kristie, and their son. In his free time, he is an avid cyclist.

On and off for 20 years—about seven years total.
Excelsior, but I have lived in the Haight (upper and lower), Nob Hill, Western Addition, and Noe Valley

Ino; he is San Francisco’s Robuchon of sushi chefs.

Wooden Charcoal on Geary, I LOVE Korean barbecue

Nopa, Beretta, or Wooden Charcoal
Best dessert:
Anythign from Luis Villavelazquez at Absinthe. I have also had really good desserts at Coi and SPQR.
Best place for a romantic date:
Upstairs at Terroirs Wine Bar & Restaurant or out back at The Blue Plate
Best Sunday brunch:
Yank Sing or Navio at Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay
Hautest Club/Lounge:
The Alembic; I love the cocktails and the vibe.
Best place for a power business meeting:
On the peninsula at Madera at Rosewood Sand Hill
All-around favorite spot in San francisco:
Golden Gate Park; I spend more time there than anywhere else in the city.
If you have out of town guests, which hotel would you recommend?
Rosewood Sand Hill in Menlo Park, or I love Campton Place in the city.

Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, RVCA, Villains, Upper Playground, and any bike shop.
Best place to buy Jewelry/Watches:
Out of state because taxes are too high here. I know this guy who knows a guy who…..

Starbelly; I love the food and the concept, and it never hurts to know the chef.
