It’s no surprise that London is upping the ante with regards to hotels in anticipation of the Olympic games. Two new hotels have announced they will be opening before the big event, Z hotel and Ampersand.

While Haute Living has already reported that The Belgraves and other new hotels will be opening before the Olympic games, we have even more hotel news coming from London.

Soho’s Z Hotel will be opening a second property in London, located near the Victoria train station. Perfectly located for tourists because of the high volume that come through the station, the hotel will also be primly located new major tourist attractions such as Buckingham Palace. Z hotels focus on providing guests with an “urbanite stay,” boasting bespoke, hand-crafted beds.

In nearby South Kensington, Ampersand will be opening its doors just prior to the 2012 games on Harrington Road. The 110-room hotel is mixing historical roots in a luxurious setting featuring individually-styled bedrooms and balconied suites and an on-site bellini bar. Built in 1888, the Ampersand hotel is one of London’s original Victorian boutique hotels.
