Cabernet Sauvignon is a red wine, which gives off the flavors of blueberries, spices, vanilla, blackberry and plum.  Its rich fruity flavor and earthy tone has made it the “king of red wines.”

Ian Hutchinson, who owns a vineyard in Chile’s Cachapoal Valley, stirred up the pot with his Cabernet Sauvignon.  Instead of the usual Earth based ingredients, he went cosmic.  His bottle of wine includes an ingredient older than mankind itself, a 4.5 billion year old meteorite that landed on Earth 6,000 years ago.

The meteorite’s origins are from the asteroid belt between Jupiter and Mars. 4.5 billion years ago, its fate: to become a unique ingredient in a fine wine for connoisseurs to taste.  The space rock was set in a barrel for 12 months during the secondary fermentation process of the wine.

The price for Meteorito Space Wine is still unknown, but surely it will be pricey because you are not just drinking willy nilly wine, your drinking a wine that has aged for 4.5 BILLION years.
