Haute Event: MOMM Organization Hosts Wild Circus-Themed Evening for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami

On Thursday, June 2, more than 200 guests gathered at Miami Beach’s historic Marlin Hotel for Primp Salon’s second anniversary celebration to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Greater Miami. Hosted by the philanthropic MOMM Organization, the fabulous evening began at 6 p.m. with members of both BBBS and MOMM mingling at a cocktail reception as DJ Alex Butler formally introduced the evening.

The guests enjoyed a festive and fun circus-themed night, enjoying displays of colorful circus candy, fresh-popped popcorn, delightful tufts of playful cotton candy, and a special appearance from a member of the eccentric Circ X. Notable guests included BBBS Vice President of Programs Gale Nelson, BBBS Community Partnership Director Adam Effertz, and, from Primp Salon, Orlando Lopez, Joy Perez, Jesi Figueroa, Queila Amador, and Missy Ewart. Jose Yacaman of Yacaman Productions – a stout advocate of the MOMM Organization – captured the evening on film with special interviews with several of the evening’s guests.

Later on, Gale Nelson addressed the guests and discussed the important need for mentors for over 1,000 children, as well as to thank attendees for their support. Next to take the mic were Jonathan Babicka and Missy Ewart, who commemorated Primp’s two year achievement and got the crowd going for a special live performance by hip hop’s Yeshua Alexander.

Adam Effertz of BBBS commented on the successful evening’s festivities, “The event really gave our volunteers the opportunity to be celebrated for the great work they do with children in our community and also allowed for their guests to be exposed to our organization and to learn about what we do. The evening was made very enjoyable by MOMM Organization, Primp Salon and of course Southern Wine and Spirits and The Marlin Hotel.”
