If you need a little Christmas right this very minute, then there’s no better way to give (receiving doesn’t hurt either, right?) than to visit Fashion Island to get the rest of your holiday shopping done and get in the spirit by giving a little to one of the two gift drives that the center is hosting Saturday Dec. 11 and 18 for local charities.
On Dec. 11, Fashion Island will be hosting Laura’s House, which provides shelter services, counseling, life-skills education and legal services for women and children affected by domestic abuse. Representatives from Laura’s House will be on hand to collect gift cards for their Spirit of Empowerment holiday program. They’re looking for gift cards for basic needs such as groceries, pharmacy and gas cards, casual and quick dining gift cards, department store and book store gift cards and clothing and shoe store gift cards appropriate for a variety of ages.
On Dec. 18, WISEPlace, will be at the gazebo collecting gifts for women in crisis. WISEPlace works in Orange Countyby providing basic needs as well as offering vocational and life skills training for women. They’re asking for gift cards to department stores as well as clothing, gift cards to casual and quick dining, health and beauty, and grocery gift cards.
Customers who would like to support these charities are invited to visit the gazebo where donations will be accepted. As a thank you, several Fashion Island merchants will be giving back to donors with special gifts, such as a Kid’s Klub card from Yard House or a complimentary house beverage or dessert from Canaletto Ristorante Veneto.
