Scott Boras

Category: Thinkers
Industry: Sports
Company: Boras Corp.

What Makes Him Haute: He’s a former Major League Baseball player and is currently the owner and president of the Boras Corp., a sports agency based in Newport Beach. His company represents about 175 MLB players, and Boras himself is credited with some of most famous record-setting contracts of all time, including Barry Bonds, Bernie Williams and Alex Rodriguez.

What Makes Him Haute Now: What has Scott Boras been up to since his split with A-Rod? After rumors swirled in the baseball franchise for quite some time, Boras has officially been named Jayson Werth’s new agent. Werth is in his final year of a two-year, $10 million contract with the Phillies. Will the outfielder stay with the Phils? The Red Sox may have their wallets out for the player, as well as keeping another player represented by Boras, Adrian Beltre, but Boras will be sure to settle for nothing less than top dollar. As for other players represented by the power agent, Haute Living is grabbing a hot dog and beer and staking out the ballgame to keep you informed on where Werth and Beltre end up, as well as what the Los Angeles Angels’ future holds for Jered Weaver and Kendry Morales, and what happens with Shin-Soo Choo and Matt LaPorta of the Cleveland Indians, all represented by Boras.
