One of the most Haute things to do, in our not-so-humble opinion, is to give back and participate in as many charitable endeavors as you can find time for. If we could do a Haute 300, we would, there are that many great causes and events happening in this great city, but for now we’ll settle on the Haute 5.
Starry, Starry Night is the annual gala to raise support and funds for Voices for Children, serving the needs of advocacy and assessment services for San Diego’s at-risk community of foster children. The event is on September 10, 2010 and will include an hosted cocktail reception, a three-course gourmet dinner by award-winning Pamplemousse Grille, dancing and a live auction, all under the gorgeous San Diego starlit sky on the beautiful La Jolla shoreline. This gala is hosted at a private residence, and tickets can be purchased from the organization’s website, linked above. Come support the cause!
The Annual Breath of Life Gala is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s amazing and awaited for gala is scheduled for September 25, 2010 and is sure to be a special and moving event, as always. This black-tie affair is focused on celebrating the people in San Diego that are working diligently for the cause, and trying to bring new hope to the people living a life with cystic fibrosis. The event includes an exclusive VIP pre-event, cocktail reception, both a silent and live auction, the Breath of Life award dedication, dancing, and all kinds of special moments planned for the honored guests attending. The event is being held at the gorgeous Four Seasons Aviara and is sure to be an elegant and important affair.
The Museum of Contemporary Arts in San Diego hosts this event annually and it has become one of the most popular and talked about events in town! You cannot beat the seaside setting of their Monte Carlo event, and this serves as the primary fundraiser for the MCASD. This year the theme is Monte Carlo Does Bond, turning the museum’s galleries into a thing of 007’s best moments. The night begins with a shaken-not-stirred-martini at the cocktail reception, casino games will follow, and come to a head with the “Diamonds are Forever” themed dinner awaiting all honored guests. Not only are you serving a great cause on September 25, 2010, but you’re going to have a blast doing it!
Benefiting the Voices for Children and Challenged Athletes Foundation, the third annual Couture for a Cause Gala is happening on September 30, 2010 at the Hard Rock San Diego. With designer fashions being shown from Etcetera and Jos A. Bank, and Judge Leo Papas serving as Master of Ceremonies, this event is always a great time! What goes better with benefits than fashion and the Hard Rock? Not a whole lot, people, not a whole lot.
Could any charity have a cooler name? Lux After Dark is the sixth annual charity event for the Lux Art Institute benefiting the Valise Project and bringing art into the classroom. Bringing guests dinner with acclaimed “green” caterer, ChileCo, live auction, dancing and Lux After Dark Cocktails, this event is never one to miss. Set out under the stars at a private residence, this gala is always filled with great company and supports a wonderful cause.
