Actor Zach Braff goes Broadway for $3.2 million

It would be pretty hard to purchase a $3.2 million apartment in New York City and still be considered a “scrub.” But that appears to be the case for actor/writer Zach Braff, who purchased a 2,500-square-foot pad at 840 Broadway.

Braff, the star of the hit film “Garden State,” as well as the hospital-comedy “Scrubs” on NBC, will apparently split hit time between his new luxury apartment on Broadway and his 2,173-square-foot house in Los Angeles, which he purchased in 2003 for just over $1 million. Not a bad pairing, at all.

The New York apartment is located in the Union Square Building, and was previously owned by Tom O’Horgan, who has made a name for himself on Broadway – theater, that is.  O’Horgan’s directorial debut came nearly 40 years ago with the musical “Hair.” He has since been involved with Broadway shows “Lenny,” “Jesus Christ Superstar,” and “Futz!”

No word as to whether the sale’s got Braff singing show tunes yet.
