Save the Date: The Academy Theater Screens “White Heat” at Monday Nights with Oscar

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences started “Monday Nights with Oscar®” series and next Monday they will celebrate film noir with a screening of “White Heat” (1949). Haute Event: Martinis and Mutts
On Thursday February 24th, over 150 guests attended the First Annual Martinis & Mutts, a fundraiser hosted by Dominique Scalise with Proof Lounge and Cece & Melinda with Raymi Productions for the Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control. Dressed to impress, guests were greeted with champagne, Absolut cocktails, Swirlz cupcakes and appetizers courtesy of Carmines, Mercadito and RA Sushi at Proof Lounge in the Gold Coast. Chicago legends Bill Kurtis and Donna La Pietra joined in the celebration with Chicago Wolves players Jason Krog and Darren Haydar as well! Over $8,000 was raised during the evening for the FCACC.

On Wednesday night, 25 people were exclusively invited to enjoy a private dinner party hosted by Hennessy Privilège and actor Mehcad Brooks from 8-11pm at the Soho Beach House. The event which was called #INTIME, was held in celebration of the new Helios Collector rose gold bottle. The mood was set with a very intimate feel as the guests enjoyed live music while they mingled with others. Brooks also didn’t stray to entertain, as he kept everyone in high spirits throughout the night.

Haute Event: GOOD LA Throws Fundraising Party at Atwater Crossing
Recognizing how “good” this was for the city, Good LA decided to help CicLAvia raise money to keep closing the streets by throwing them a party at Atwater Crossing, a haute new social and creative center in Atwater Village. Atwater Crossing brings together artisanal manufacturing facilities, creative offices, locations for photo and film shoots, theaters, and a yoga studio and gym into a space that will foster creativity within the community. Later this year, a restaurant, the ATX Eatery, will be added to the complex. The ATX Eatery will boast a menu made up of the highest quality ingredients and fresh produce pulled from the onsite linear farm, as well as live jazz and other performances.

Hautels: Keith Menin Has Big Plans for the Shelborne South Beach
A postcard scene splashed in ice cream-pastels, South Beach throughout the mid-20th century was art deco on a high. An autonomous design movement was ideal for sin city with an ocean, packed with sunbathers by day and the beautiful and sinister spoiling in nocturnal vices by night. When The Shelborne South Beach Resort opened in December 1940, an oceanfront penthouse went for $15 a night. “This is the right time in my life to recreate it to what it should be today. It’s a big asset on a great piece of property. Everyone’s in trouble, but for me it’s the opposite. It’s my time to go.”
