Chicago’s most notable chefs will bring their culinary expertise together for Common Threads’ Sixth Annual “World Festival” on Monday, March 7, 2011 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Soldier Field. Michelle Bernstein, Stephanie Izard, Bill Kim, Giuseppe Tentori, Chris Pandel, Domenica Catelli and Anita Lo are among this year’s celebrity chefs who will serve up global gourmet cuisine in the annual culinary event to benefit health and nutritional education for Chicago youth.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences started “Monday Nights with Oscar®” series and next Monday they will celebrate film noir with a screening of “White Heat” (1949). Academy Writers Branch member Richard LaGravenese (“The Fisher King,” “Water for Elephants”) will introduce the screening.

Dressed to impress, guests were greeted with champagne, Absolut cocktails, Swirlz cupcakes and appetizers courtesy of Carmines, Mercadito and RA Sushi at Proof Lounge in the Gold Coast. Chicago legends Bill Kurtis and Donna La Pietra joined in the celebration with Chicago Wolves players Jason Krog and Darren Haydar as well! Over $8,000 was raised during the evening for the FCACC.

Atwater Crossing brings together artisanal manufacturing facilities, creative offices, locations for photo and film shoots, theaters, and a yoga studio and gym into a space that will foster creativity within the community. Later this year, a restaurant, the ATX Eatery, will be added to the complex. The ATX Eatery will boast a menu made up of the highest quality ingredients and fresh produce pulled from the onsite linear farm, as well as live jazz and other performances.

The Daily Truffle went on behalf of Perrier-Jouët to the Women in Film pre-Oscar party at Soho House last weekend. Perrier-Jouët constantly supports the arts and has collaborations with name artists since it’s inception; they have art contests for young artists and commission famous artists all the time. Halle Berry hosted the celebration, which honored all the nominated women including Amy Adams (The Fighter), Melissa Leo (The Fighter), and Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit).
