Haute Event: Special Screening of “Howl” Starring James Franco

On Wednesday, Sept. 23, Maestro Dobel Tequila sponsored a special screening of the film, “Howl.” The film, which stars James Franco as the late poet Allen Ginsberg, who faced an obscenity trial for the publication of his poem, “Howl.” The film debuted at Sundace earlier this year and is part animation, part historical reenactment and part courtroom drama.

Dori’s World: Just An Average Wednesday

On Wednesday, I had lunch at Cipriani Downtown with Loree Rodkin, Ingrid Casares, Goga Ashkenazi and Lizzie Grubman then we did a little shopping at Diane Von Furstenberg, Jeffrey, and Valentino to get some outfits for the evening. Our first stop was the Humane Society of the United States’ Make History Gala, hosted by Amanda Hearst. Guests included Topper Mortimer, Georgina Bloomberg, Beth Ostrosky, Prince Dimitri of Yugoslavia, Luke Weil, David and Dylan Lauren, Moby, Andrew Lauren, and Debbie Bancroft.

It’s Finally Here! L.A.’s Haute 100 for 2010

It’s been more than a year since we put out the last Haute 100 edition of Haute Living Los Angeles, which highlighted the 100 most influential individuals in the world’s most entertaining city. Haute Event: Diane’s Day at DavidBartonGym

David Barton has been quietly giving back to cancer research for a while. But this month, he used his namesake fitness center, DavidBartonGym, to help further the cause. In memory of his sister, Diane Barton, who passed away five years ago from ovarian cancer, Barton launched a national training initiative by offering reduced enrollment fees with a goal to raise $100,000 for the month of September.
