iPad 3 Could Arrive in Early March

The wait may be over for those patiently expecting the release of Apple’s iPad 3. The company has sent out official invitations to select media outlets to attend an event on March 7 in downtown San Francisco.

The invitation states, “We have something you really have to see. And touch.” Many are expecting the release of the new iPad 3, which has been on the horizon for some time according to technology blogs. Though some thought the release may happen on February 24, which is the late Steve Jobs’ birthday, it now appears that date may be March 7 at this upcoming event.

The iPad 3 is expected to feature a high-resolution Retina Display, providing a much sharper image than that on the existing iPads. In addition, it is possible that the iPad 3 will be somewhat larger, with the screen dimension doubling to 2048 x 1536.

In that image, you’ll notice that Apple has effectively confirmed that the device will boast a high-resolution Retina Display, which is much sharper than the standard display on existing iPads. Of course, with the release of a new Apple product, consumers also anticipate that it will be faster, perhaps featuring 4G LTE capabilities.

Other upgrades could be the inclusion of Siri and a sharper camera.
