Andrey Melnichenko’s $300 Million Yacht Anchors In Sausalito

Sausalito residents woke up to an unexpected sight on Wednesday morning. Docked in Richardson Bay was the $300 million yacht owned by 38-year-old Russion billionaire Andrey Melnichenko. The yacht, which arrived Wednesday morning attracted dozens of spectators.

Melnichenko, who made his fortune from his entrepreneurial energy, banking, and fertilizer businesses, named the submarine-shaped yacht “A”. This standing for both Melnichenko and his wife, Aleksandra Nikolic Melnichenko’s first initials.

The massive 390-foot luxury yacht is a monstrosity. It hosts a master suite and six additional cabins, three swimming pools, two hot tubs, and sauna. In addition it boasts a movie theater, helipad, gym, and massage room. It has 23,600 square feet of living space and runs on a 24,000 horse power engine, which can propel the 5,959-gross-ton ship up to 24 knots.

The interior of the yacht has a modern, yet clean appeal, with a plethora of stark white décor and mirrored walls. One room is covered in wall-to-wall hand stitched stingray hides, while another is wallpapered in calf’s leather. The master suite features a rotating king-sized bed, which allow for various views of the ocean scenery as well as the large retractable 60-inch plasma television.

This massive seafaring craft has a crew of around 35 staff members, including deckhands, wait staff, chefs, mechanical engineers, and stewards. Not to mention the water sport specialists, there to make sure everyone has a grand time.

With such an impressive and expensive piece of property, security is a must. The boat’s windows are made of bomb-proof glass and there are fingerprint scanners at ever door. Forty-four security camera litter the boat’s interior and exterior. Some are even equipped with night-vision infrared and motion-detection systems.

It is unknown how long the yacht will be docked in Marin, but until it sails away, it is sure to be a sight to see in Sausalito.
