Albert Kriemler, creative director of Akris, hosted a luncheon for members of the Couture Council of The Museum at FIT at the AKRIS boutique on Madison Avenue. Guests toasted Kriemler ahead of September’s Couture Council Luncheon, which is always a must-attend event among New York’s fashion tribe. The luncheon, which takes place right before New York Fashion Week, will honor Kriemler and be held at Lincoln Center.
Among those in attendance were Dr. Valerie Steele (director of the museum), Elizabeth Peek, Yaz Hernandez, Audrey Gruss and Lisa Klein.
Dr. Steele introduced Kriemler by quoting Linda Fargo, Bergdorf Goodman’s style guru and director of women’s fashion, who once said that “Albert is someone who has improved the quality of life through design.” Dr. Steele then commented, “While everyone appreciates the luxury of Akris fabrics and clothes, few people realize how much research and development Albert does to ensure their effortless elegance.”
Kreimler, after expressing his admiration for The Museum at FIT and the Couture Council’s work on its behalf, introduced a selection of looks from his Fall/Winter 2016-17 collection (shown in Paris in March).
