Fashion Scout Announces Ones To Watch

Hot on the heels of the news that Galliano will be making his re-entrance to fashion for Maison Martin Margiela at London’s upcoming Men’s Collections, as well as the fact that Gareth Pugh will be returning to London Fashion Week for the first time in seven years, it certainly seems as though the anticipation for next year’s fashion antics is higher than ever. Now Fashion Scout, the organisation responsible for championing raw and untapped design talent in the capital, has named its Ones To Watch for the upcoming Autumn/Winter 2015 season. With previous designers highlighted by Fashion Scout including Eudon Choi and Phoebe English, this is certainly an accolade that many young hopefuls aspire to and this year it seems that London is truly a hotspot for undiscovered fashion flair.

Angel Chen, J Moon, Kim Stevenson and Minju Kim will be the names on everybody’s lips come February, when the Fashion Scout Ones To Watch will participate in their own catwalk show at London’s Freemasons Hall. And with the volume of experience and impressive CVs under their belts, these designers are heading for a big impact. Three of the four nominees are graduates of London colleges, with Chen hailing from the critically acclaimed Central St Martin’s BA course. Kim, meanwhile, has already been nominated for the LVMH prize, won the 2013 H&M Design Award and had her goods stocked in Opening Ceremony. “It was really exciting to see so much talent from the UK and from across the world shortlisted this year. It really demonstrates the importance of London as an international fashion hub,” commented the British Fashion Council’s Kendall Robbins, who formed part of the Fashion Scout panel together with director Martyn Roberts and others.

It’s certainly set to be an exciting year for London fashion, kicking off with the Men’s Collections in January before the full swing of London Fashion Week begins in February.
