The innovative Los Angeles County Museum of Art has launched a haute new collaboration in conjunction with SpaceX and Google.

Its new Art + Technology Lab is an experiment in bringing artists and technologists together to develop cutting edge projects for the museum.

Several technology companies have teamed up with the museum to provide grants and lab space to artists who want to experiment with new technologies.

In addition to Google and SpaceX, Accenture, NVIDIA and DAQRI are making the new project possible.

LACMA’s advisory board also includes independent artists and academics, such as Dan Goods (visual strategist at Jet Propulsion Labs) and Ken Goldberg (professor of industrial engineering and operations research at the University of California, Berkeley).

The Lab is housed in the newly remodeled Balch Research Library.
