New Year New Menu: True Food Kitchen’s Demo Class

If you’ve resolved to improve yourself from the inside out, then there’s no better way than to get down and dirty with some hands-on experience at True Food Kitchen. It’s probably already one of your favorite restaurant stops, but now you can get some schooling from the man under the toque at Newport’s hottest spot.

True Food Kitchen’s known for having fresh dish every day and being one of the best spots to take a group when there are a few vegetarians, meat eaters and vegans in the bunch. The menu has light fare, hearty dishes and has flavors from around the world all under one roof. But aside from the healthy choices and the abundance of antioxidants on the menu, there’s a general air of good health all around. If you want to take some of the recipes home and make some of that feel-good food in your own kitchen, head to the restaurant’s cooking class Jan. 4.

Executive Chef Michael Stebner will be on hand to guide you through the three-course menu (and of course you’ll get a taste at the end of your toiling) that includes shiitake tofu lettuce cups — a vegan recipe to start, spaghetti squash casserole which happens to be gluten-free, and orange olivello sorbet with fresh berries. After filling up on your own creations, Stebner will teach you how to make healthy choices at home and eating out, so you can keep those resolutions strong through 2011.

True Food Kitchen is located at 415 Newport Center Dr., at Fashion Island in Newport Beach. For more information or to make your reservation, call 949.644.2400 or visit www.truefoodkitchen.com.
