Mark your calendars for the third annual Crave AZ event, taking place Oct. 22-24 at the Scottsdale Waterfront and celebrating the sensual pleasures of the most decadent local cuisine the are has to offer. This year more than 40 local, independent restaurants and more than 200 select vineyards will participate.
This year, Crave AZ will once again bring delightful nosh and sumptuous vino to its crowd of foodies and wine enthusiasts, but there will be a few exciting additions to the lineup as well. For example, the Elixirs at the Loft evening on Friday, Oct. 22, which will include two fun-filled events: a Battle of the Sexes wine tasting, and a National Top Bar Chef Mix-Off. Tickets for both events that evening are $40 per person and the merriment will be held at The Chef’s Loft at SouthBridge.
Of course, if you have to pick just one event to attend over the weekend, it’s Crave AZ’s VIP event on Saturday, Oct. 23. Come see the Scottsdale Waterfront transformed into a reserve wine bar in honor of the Decanted — A VIP Reserve Wine Tasting event. While you sip fine vintages and enjoy nibbles (including exquisite desserts) created by some of the Valley’s top chefs, you’ll be serenaded by the jazzy tunes of Dennis Rowland. Tickets for the evening are $100 per person.
Sunday will see the kick-off of the much-anticipated feast, called Crave AZ Grand Tasting, during which you’ll not only be able to choose from hundreds of wines and tantalizing morsels to sample, but also watch local chefs work their magic on the Viking demonstration stage. Wish you had more wine-related talking points in your arsenal? Keep an eye out for the number of wine education seminars that will be taking place throughout the event. Tickets are $85 per person.
Proceeds from the three days of culinary enjoyment will benefit Waste Not, the Valley’s only perishable food rescue program, which distributes more than 6,000 pounds of food to schools, after-school programs, senior meal programs, transition homes, day care centers, assisted living facilities and other agencies in need throughout the metro area.
