Haute Bookworms Unite for Author Breakfast Series

It’s nice to see that there are still avid readers out there. The Brazilian Court, the iconic Palm Beach hotel, has announced it will be hosting Parker Ladd’s Sixth Annual Author Breakfast Series now through April 16. On select Fridays, guests of the the Mediterranean-style hotel, and ticket holders, can have a spot of breakfast with two bestselling authors per session, complete with valet parking and a copy of the authors’ featured book.

Parker Ladd, a prominent publishing executive, has hosted A’s “Open Book” in the past and will be hosting the breakfast series at the hotel’s Café Boulud. The hotel released the author lineup this morning, which includes such notables as: Nelson DeMille, author of The Gate House, a No. 1 New York Times bestseller; William Mann, author of How to be a Movie Star: Elizabeth Taylor in Hollywood; Jane Stanton-Hitchcock, author of Mortal Friends; and A.J. Jacobs, author of The Guinea Pig Diaries: My Life as an Experiment. Many other works in various genres will also be featured.

The author series could not have been hosted by a more appropriate location, with The Brazilian Court being ranked No. 1 in South Florida and No. 3 in the state in Travel and Leisure’s 2010 “World’s Best Hotels.” It is also a Conde Nast Traveler Gold List recipient for 2008 and 2010.
