John Travolta’s Car Stolen In Santa Monica

A vintage Mercedes-Benz 280-SL owned by actor John Travolta was stolen on a residential street in Santa Monica on Sunday afternoon, the Los Angeles Times reports. The car is estimated to be worth between $35,000 and $100,000. The incident reportedly happened around 3:30 p.m. near the 1400 block of Berkeley Street.

Scrap Metal Used To Make German Classic Cars

Reports of jaw-dropping autos have continued to pour forth from the Frankfurt Motor Show this yea, and there were plenty of curiosities as well, including city cars converted into beach buggies, electric supercars, exotics with trick folding roofs. But perhaps the most artistic, and eco-conscious of the bunch, stood at the back of the hall. Here a pile of scrap metal was transformed into a full-scale replica of the iconic Mercedes-Benz 300SL "Gullwing." It is made entirely of reclaimed car parts and random pieces of scrap, done by German firm Giganten Aus Stahl, which roughly translates as Giants of Steel. It's just one of a number of creations the studio offers to those who can afford to buy the unique creations.
