For the first time since 2011, Carolina Herrera brought her collection to San Francisco. The iconic fashion designer flaunted her Spring 2015 Collection before more than 250 Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco patrons, Saks Fifth Avenue clients and Carolina Herrera enthusiasts at The Art of Fashion: Runway Show and Luncheon, benefitting the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco and presented by Saks Fifth Avenue at the de Young on Nov. 4. Herrera showed 46 looks on the runway in Wilsey Court with the Richter mural as the backdrop. The event raised almost $200,000 which will help support future fashion exhibitions including "High Style: The Brooklyn Museum Costume Collection in March 2015." It had become known as "The Oscar Show," Saks Fifth Avenue's and the League to Save Lake Tahoe's annual luncheon and fashion show with iconic fashion designer Oscar de la Renta, who presented his Collection under sun-drenched skies in a spectacular Lake Tahoe setting. Cindy Chao is an artist whose medium just happens to be rare gems and precious metals. Her lavish "sculptures" are sold at auctions at Sothebys, and Christie's to private collectors and exhibited at museums throughout the world. Chao and Sarah Jessica Parker are friends and have a mutual respect for the creative process. They partnered on a resplendent piece called the Black Label Masterpiece "Ballerina Butterfly" brooch which will be sold in October in tandem with the New York City Ballet Gala with net proceeds from its sale benefiting the ballet.
