Haute Living’s Fashion Winners for The Grammys 2015
You got to love the Grammys. Its a time when fashion is at its hot, sexy and fearless best. But in actuality every year the fashion gets more and more tasteful and sedate than in past Grammy shows. Many artists opted for big designer names which equates to deals made with fashion houses, publicists and stylists. But turning a awards gown into a money proposition is nothing new and obvious to most. Although there were no home-made project runway looks, the Grammys remain a place where fashion is a teensy bit more outrageous and daring than other award shows and there is a sense that the fashion takes a back seat to the music. For that reason its fun to watch.
Haute Living’s Survival Guide to New York Fashion Week
Step right up folks and view the wonders of the fashion-circus otherwise known as New York Fashion week, coming in mid February . You’ll be amazed by the clown fashion that walks the Lincoln Center plaza. And then there is strong-woman— who in tundra-like weather wears summer clothing without so much as a wince. See how she stands so composed and poised for a click from the street fashion paparazzi.
3 Fashion and Interior Design Icons Partner with Amazing Results
It’s not enough that fashion designers create clothing these days. In the current brand-enamored climate, designers are brands and brands encompass all things that touch your life; therein lies the buzzword “lifestyle brand.” It basically means everything that touches your life should be infused with the designer’s look from clothing to hotels, fragrance to items for the home.

Haute Living’s Guide to the Coziest Wool
It’s the dead of winter and with snow on the way and more tundra-blasts in the forecast, a cozy sweater can be your best friend— but what’s the difference between lambs wool and merino you ask? Well, Haute Living’s compiled a basic guide to the toastiest wools to make finding your favorite easier. Wool is a basic term used to describe the fur or hair of animals used in a fabric. Generally speaking, the term wool connotes a sheep as the source animal. Animals are sheared but this process does not hurt the animal. Fibers are woven into a fabric and each breed of mammal yields a different texture and feel. The winner is a matter of personal choice.
Versus Versace Appoints Anthony Vaccarello as Creative Director
Donatella is letting go of the reigns of Versus with the permanent appointment of Anthony Vaccarello. Mr. Vacarello, who also designs saucy looks under his own name, debuted a capsule collection for Versus at New York fashion week this past September. Well, he aced the audition and will take the reigns of the Versace’s sister collection which relaunched 5 years ago.
7 Things We Love About Dover Street Market
If you are on your way to New York for a shopping spree and tired of the same behemoth brands with ubiquitous fashion and accessories, then take a trip to Lexington and 30th for a treat to your fashion sweat tooth. The Dover Street Market is housed in a stone building on the side street, and is a destination not a place you stumble upon. The exclusive shopping emporium is the brain-child of Comme des Garcon’s designer Rei Kawakubo who opened the first in London almost 10 years ago. She calls it ” an ongoing atmosphere of beautiful Chaos” but I found it to be a warm and inviting mix-up of special things to buy or to be inspired by. Nothing feels so precious that you hesitate picking it up. The staff are well-versed in fashion but also very friendly and not in an overbearing way. The 6 floors are a haven for experimental fashion with emerging designers and established brands that sell items only available at the DSM. I spent some time exploring the market and here are 9 things to love about Dover Street Market.
Chanel Bejewels Dakota Johnson at The Globes
Chanel, the ever-evolving luxury brand’s most elaborate, and ultra-expensive parade of bling has arrived in the U.S. from its home in Paris just in time to bejewel Dakota Johnson at the Golden Globes. But now is resting comfortably in their New York boutique on Madison Avenue. High jewelry connotes the most lavish of jewels, and debuted during July’s Haute Couture at the house’s Place Vendome Parisian address.
