Hemingway’s on Tuesdays, hosted by Johnny Valenti, is pioneering a new kind of night where people are sharing their poetry and acoustic sets free of judgement. This night (thanks to Johnny Valenti, Michael Utsinger, Louis Carreon, Alexander David and myself) brings together a core group of friends who come to listen to others perform their art.

I just got back to L.A. from a wonderful trip to Rome, London and Paris. Paris was amazing– from the architecture to the fashion to the cuisine. If you find yourself there in the near future here are some of the places I visited and loved.

There’s no denying that dubstep is sexy, or at least makes you feel a little sexy. I’m loving this genre of music that originated in South East London. There are so many song mixes on the web that are marginally better than the originals. A friend of mine, Jared Palomar a member of the band Augustana (most noted for their song “Boston”) has recently been posting some of his dubstep mixes online. Curiosity got the best of me and I’ve become addicted to his productions of these once bland songs.

Valentine’s Day is a day where pampering is necessary! Especially for me, because I’m single. A day at the spa is the perfect gift for anyone, or even if you just want to treat yourself! The top Spas in Los Angeles are having Valentine’s Day Promotions and I thought I’d share them with you!

I truly believe there is nothing more therapeutic than getting to play dress up and have your photo taken. However vapid of me that may be is irrelevant because, I like it and…it works for me. Last week I shot with two of the most amazing girls I know: Adina Doria and Haley Bennett. They are such a wonderful team because they see beauty in a way that many do not and are able to capture it and share it with others. This is my second time shooting with them and both times left me happy and feeling beautiful.

Last night I found myself at NightHawk Studios, which for those of you who don’t know, is the secret recording studio at the Sunset Marquis. With whom, you ask? None other than Lil Wayne, no big deal. The mood was surprisingly romantic, ha! There were candles lit everywhere and the lights were dimmed. It’s really interesting to watch someone do what they love, and do something that they’re really good at. Being able to see how someone works to be where they are is pretty surreal. For Weezy, getting inspired meant playing the track over and over and over again to let words flow naturally. You might be wondering why I had any business being in the studio with him, and truthfully, i didn’t–but my friend Porcelain has a single dropping with him in two weeks, so fellow artists were chilling and inspiring one another while I swayed to the music like a white girl and ate all their potato chips.

After being spoiled in St. Barths, returning to reality hasn’t been easy. Not only was the island just so beautiful and clean but the yacht I was staying on was such a treat–a real life fairytale. Eating fantastic food at every meal with Greek men that looked like Gods (and they were down to earth!), going to the beaches of St. Barths (my favorite being Saline), having the most amazing cocktails, and dancing the nights away at places like Yacht Club and Le Ti. Not having to lift a finger for a week was a nice change of pace, but alas I must return to my life in Los Angeles.
