Miami’s hottest summer event is upon us as models, influencers, fashionistas and celebrities flock to the Magic City to come take part in the annual Miami Swim Week 2019. Each year, the swimwear industry takes over hot spots throughout South Beach, often holding court at the iconic W South Beach Hotel, as well as other locales including Soho Beach House, Faena District, Delano and the 1 Hotel, with tents and pop-ups along Collins Avenue.

This year will include all of that plus more, as multiple showrunners take the stage in the 305, displaying this season’s resort wear from brands including Sports Illustrated SI Swim, Acacia, Luli Fama, Monday Swimwear, Wildfox, iShine365, Maaji, Tori Praver + so many more.

In the midst of all the action of the shows, parties and after-parties, we’ve rounded up a list of where to cool off and fuel up during Miami Swim Week 2019.

W SOUTH BEACH

The W South Beach has remained Miami’s core Swim Week hub for years, showcasing gorgeous and picturesque runway shows across its pool, set against the backdrop of the beach. One of the most highly-anticipated shows, Sports Illustrated SI Swim, will be returning to the hotel this year, bringing with it big-name models including Kate Upton, Olivia Culpo, Kate Bock, Barbara Palvin and Winnie Harlow, amongst others; as well as the Badgley Mischka show. If you want to be seen, the W South Beach is the perfect place to reside throughout the weekend—guests can also enjoy hot spots like MR CHOW, The Living Room bar and The Restaurant at W South Beach (RWSB) in between shows. Additionally, they will be hosting the South Beach Legends Lounge Cabana, which will be open to those who RSVP, as well as beauty and glam services on site.

FAENA DISTRICT

The striking Faena Hotel and Faena District will be hosting their own handful of swim week trunk shows, parties and events throughout the weekend. Enjoy drinks and live music at the hip lounge, The Living Room, or sunset cocktails at the Tree of Life bar. Touch up for glam at the acclaimed Rossano Ferretti salon in the upstairs spa, where Marco Norma and his skilled team offer an array of hair services that will keep you looking fresh all weekend. Bask in the gorgeous oceanfront views and snap a photo in front of the Instagrammable Damien Hirst Golden Mammoth.

SOHO BEACH HOUSE

Always a hot spot for Swim Week, the members-only Soho Beach House will play host to a handful of Swim Week events and parties, and also undoubtedly draw in a crowd of A-listers and celebrities throughout the weekend. In between shows, cool down at the happening Ocho rooftop bar and enjoy signature cocktails and Mexican bites as you dance to live DJ beats. After the shows, spend the nighttime partying away on the second-floor members’ restaurant and bar.

BRICKELL CITY CENTRE

The downtown shopping mecca, Brickell City Centre, will also serve as a Swim Week hub throughout the week. Launching “Find Your Centre” this year for the first time, the mall will host a wellness festival on L4’s Terrace in C Block (atop La Centrale), where guests can partake in free workout classes including a dance workout class from VIXEN and Livel, boot camp with Legacy Fit and guided yoga with Lululemon. Additionally, they can receive wellness services from The Biostation, food and beverage tastings, photo moments powered by Samsung and a mandala meditation session. The mall will also showcase beloved Colombian swimwear line Maaji’s runway show at night, as well as host a style session sunset soiree entitled “Beauty & The Beats,” where guests will be able to refresh with Caudalie, scent themselves with Acqua di Parma and get beach waves from IGK (open to the public July 13th from 4:30-7 p.m.).

MIAMI BEACH BOTANICAL GARDEN

For the first time ever, a new show entitled Nu Wave Swim will debut during Miami Swim Week, taking place at the beautiful Miami Beach Botanical Garden. In between shows, guests can chill out and enjoy premier offerings from Groot Hospitality‘s Bar Bevy in the Banyan Room VIP lounge and a handful of wellness activations from The Sacred Space Miami and Barry’s Bootcamp. And of course, attendees can enjoy endless photo opportunities in the picturesque space from World Red Eye, as the show teams up with Facebook and Instagram to create custom content to promote and drive awareness to Miami Water Keeper, which advocates for cleaner oceans.

FUEL UP:

For those of you who want to remain bikini-ready or just stay healthy while enjoying on-the-go, delicious bites + smoothies and juices, here are our top picks of where to stop.

DELICIOUS RAW

The Tag Experience Delicious RawPhoto Credit: The Tag Experience

One of our all-time favorite healthy dining destinations in Miami is Delicious Raw. The Sunset Harbour locale offers some of the best bowls, smoothies, fresh juices, salads and wraps in the city. You can enjoy a diverse range of protein-rich, fresh options without any guilt—it’s the perfect Swim Week option for those running around Miami Beach at any time of the day. They even have a new post-party juice that’s aimed at fighting your hangover, which is the perfect fix for a morning wake-up.

PLNTHOUSE

Located adjacent to the pool and gym at the 1 Hotel, Plnthouse offers all of the plant-based, vegan and vegetarian options one could want in a convenient setting, right in the midst of all the action.

JOE & THE JUICE

Located right across the W South Beach, The Setai and next to the pop-up tents, the famed global chain Joe & the Juice is another great option for healthy dining on-the-go. Our favorite is the Spicy Tuna Sandwich, offered on the brand’s signature power bread. Pair it with a tumeric shot or fresh juice, and you’re ready to conquer Swim Week.
