Bill Murray Film

To ensure you will have the hautest Christmas one can possible have, Bill Murray has tapped Haute 100 lister George Clooney as well as Miley Cyrus and Amy Poehler to star in A Very Merry Christmas.

The film, which will be released via on-demand Internet streaming service Netflix, is written by Sofia Coppola, who is also the director of the film, Murray and Mitch Glazer. A Very Merry Christmas is executive produced by Coppola, Glazer, Roman Coppola and Tony Hernandez.

The holiday film pays homage to the classic variety show featuring Murray, who plays himself as he frets over whether or not people will attend his TV show due to a snowstorm slated to hit New York City. However, with a sprinkle of luck as well as perseverance, guests arrive at Gotham’s Carlyle Hotel to take part in holiday festivities (dancing and singing in holiday spirit).

The star-studded cast also includes Paul Shaffer, Julie White, Dimitri Dimitrov, Michael Cera, Chris Rock, David Johansen, Maya Rudolph, Jason Schwartzman, Jenny Lewis, members of the band Phoenix and Rashida Jones.

The one minute and 38 second trailer has finally been released and it features Murray singing the iconic and well-known Christmas song Jingle Bells. However, Murray is performing for an empty crowd. His excitement quickly fizzles and he says, “This is a nightmare. I can’t do this. I’m sorry.”

Once Murray is settled into his hotel room, his celebrity friends knock on his door encouraging him to return to the stage. But Murray is not sold. He responds, “Is anyone showing up for this thing?” Murray continues, “The airports are closed, the trains are closed, the busses and bridges and tunnels are not working. The entire city of New York is shut down.”

Finally, Murray get’s in a merry mood and the night slowly, but surely comes together.
