Dior Cancels LA Fashion Show

Dior cancels highly anticipated Cruise collection showing in LA—find out why.

Finally L.A. was having its fashion moment. Though Ford kept his word, Dior, unfortunately, has pulled out of its SoCal showing.

A Dior representative confirmed that the brand has decided to stage its Cruise show on May 11 in the French Riviera near Cannes instead of on May 9th in L.A. because of the unexpected availability of a high-profile location.

It isn’t surprising, really, given that Dior and designer Raf Simons dresses the creme de la creme of Cannes Film Festival bound starlets. The fashion house also incidentally hosted its 2014 Cruise show in the south of France in Monaco.

Though Dior has decided to opt out of L.A., many other luxury brands are following Ford’s lead. Louis Vuitton will stage its Cruise show in Palm Springs this May, while Burberry will host a party and runway show at Griffith Observatory this April.
