Hermès To Sell Luxury Bicycles for $11,000

Your morning commute is about to get a whole lot more haute! Beginning next month, luxury brand Hermès will release a line of lightweight bicycles—perfect for commuting around NYC!

Named Le Flâneur d’Hermès and Le Flâneur sportif d’Hermès, the two models will be available in three colors and retail for $11,000 each. “We set out to make a real bike, not a decorative object. It had to be simple, efficient, easy to use, pleasant and elegant,” François Doré, the head of the Hermès Horizons division, told Women’s Wear Daily.

Besides an appealing design and a designer label, the carbon fiber bicycles also come quipped with shock-absorbing frames, hydraulic disc brakes and belt-driven transmission. Riders can also choose whether they want eight or 11 gears integrated into the hub of the back wheel.

The bicycle also features a luggage-rack support, which is perfect for pedaling with a bag of groceries… or a Hermès purse.
