Avion Tequila Dinner at Cantina Laredo
I don’t know how many people reading this have ever seen the series Entourage on HBO, but I watched it religiously. In the later episodes the guys were looking for something to invest in and they hit it big with Avion Tequila. Originally, I thought that Avion was some made up tequila that the show made up, but I eventually found out it was very real and very popular. You know what else is very real and very popular? Cantina Laredo (508 North State). These two popular entities will combine on November 14th for an Avion Tequila Dinner, which will pair modern Mexican dishes with tequila cocktails.
The event will begin with a tequila cocktail reception at 7 p.m., followed by a four course dinner paired with tequila cocktails at 7:30 p.m. Participating guests will learn the history of Avion tequila, sip a variety of neat pours (silver; reposado; anejo) and enjoy modern Mexican dishes by Chef de Cuisine Kennon Reed. A representative from Avion tequila will lead this fun and educational tasting event.
The Avion tequila dinner is $49.99 per person (plus tax and gratuity). Reservations may be made by calling Cantina Laredo at 312.955.0014.

Soup Pumpkin Soup
Cocktail pairing: “Tamarind Heat” – tequila, tamarind, pineapple juice, lime juice, cholula, mint leaves
Entree choice of: Camarones with Pasilla Mango Mole or Grilled Veal Porterhouse
Cocktail pairing: “Texas Martini” – tequila, fresh lemon and lime juice, grand marnier, juice from pickled jalapenos
Dessert Sorbet Trio
Cocktail pairing: “Old 43” – tequila, licor 43, kahlua, coffee
