Stella McCartney & Gwyneth Paltrow Team Up for Capsule Collection

Talk about an A-list partnership! Celebrated fashion designer Stella McCartney is teaming up with her longtime pal, Gwyneth Paltrow, to create a capsule collection for Paltrow’s lifestyle website, Goop. The collection, which includes a black blazer, black jeans, black wool trousers plus several exclusive handbags, were conceptualized by McCartney and curated by Paltrow.

“It was the right time. We’re very close friends,” Paltrow told Women’s Wear Daily. “We were bringing two worlds together and it was important not to force them.”

Despite Paltrow’s killer sense of style, the 40-year-old actress emphasized that she plans to defer all design decisions to her creative counterpart. “I think of myself as a woman who is a lover of beautiful things,” she explained. “I’m very specific about my taste. The role I want in a partnership is curating a collection as opposed to taking a designer point of view. I can tweak a blazer and make it the perfect blazer. It’s being able to fulfill what my ideal things ought to be.”

The collection, which McCartney, 41, describes as “staple pieces,” will be available for purchase on Sept. 12. Prices begin at $795. “In order to create pieces that are effortless, it’s very considered,” revealed McCartney. “Gwyneth was a huge part of that. This is a big reflection of her life.”
