Out With Alisa: Barbados

To kick off the month of August, I headed to the grand opening of Caribbean Premier League Founder Ajmal Khan’s gorgeous Cove Spring House. Khan welcomed us for a grand dinner party, as well as to celebrate the beginning of West Indian cricket games in Barbados. The teams are six privately owned Caribbean-based teams and all matches in the league began in Barbados on August 2, to be televised throughout the Caribbean and across the globe.

Ajmal is an amazing host who often welcomes guests like superstar Mariah Carey and X Factor head honcho Simon Cowell at his home. Last year he surprised 250 of his guests with a 3-day event that was organized by Colin Cowie and catered by famous chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten.

This year the event began with a dinner at Sandy Lane, the hotel where Tiger Woods got married. The next day Khan welcomed us at his house for a dinner catered again by Jean-Georges! On the third day, the guests celebrated in a beautiful tent assembled by Colin Cowie, with a private performance by Cee Lo Green.

The opening of the West Indian Cricket Games in the Caribbean is a wonderful event, and I wish Ajmal and the Carribean Premier League good luck in the games!
