Haute 100 NY Update: Bill Clinton Named ‘Father of the Year’
Bill Clinton was named ‘Father of the Year’ on Tuesday by the National Father’s Day Committee, the only title that trumps President of the United States. Clinton was beaming during the entire speech, at the Save the Children Benefit, as he raconteured Hillary’s miracle delivery and his adamant desire to hold her hand through it all. A family man before anything else, Clinton said that fatherhood is “the greatest thing that ever happened to [him].”
His wife and daughter, Chelsea, proudly championed his new accomplishment, although it came as no surprise to them. “Every day he’s my dad, and I don’t need an award to tell me he’s the best that I ever could have hoped for,” Chelsea said. “But I’m grateful he’s getting the recognition that I, of course, his unapologetically biased daughter, think he’s always deserved.”
