Haute Dining: NYC’s Popular Fig & Olive Restaurant To Open in West Hollywood

Fig & Olive, the New York based Mediterranean bistro, is bringing its Mediterranean cuisine across the country to the West Coast. The new flagship L.A. location will be located on Melrose Place and promises to be the hottest new restaurant in the city.

Olive oil has been such a deliciously vital element to Mediterranean cuisine that even Homer called it “liquid gold.” With olive oil as its main component of concoction, the menu at Fig & Olive is inspired by the cuisine of Italy, Spain and southern France. The restaurant’s founder, Laurent Halasz, is a native of the gastronomical town of Mougins in the south of France, and his cuisine has been inspired by the region’s culinary art.

Chef Pascal Lorange’s delicious delicacies include zucchini carpaccio and fig and gorgonzola tartelet, while the main dish creations consist of grilled branzino glazed with a Fig 18-year balsamic vinegar or porcini & gorgonzola jamon Iberico ravioli topped with Porcini olive oil.

The chic and pleasant decor marries perfectly with the elegant dishes. Guests have the option of dining at the communal table and tasting bar or in the main dinning area. For those lovely sunny afternoons we are all so familiar with in L.A., there is an enclosed terrace for dining en plein air; and the Upstairs area boasts a delectable Fig & Olive Champagne Bar and Lounge serving signature cocktails like the Fig Mojito.

The new Fig & Olive West Hollywood will open March 2, and is also available for private party reservations. Fig & Olive is located at 8490 Melrose Place, West Hollywood, 310.360.9100; www.figandolive.com
