Giorgio Armani and the Burj Khalifa

One of the soon to be hotspots of the Burj Khalifa, the Armani Hotel is now scheduled to open late April. Dubai will be the first destination for a series of hotels, resorts, and residences marking Armani’s debut into the world of hospitality.

Upon opening, the signature hotel will occupy 15 of the first 39 floors of the Burj Khalifa and it will house 160 rooms as well as 150 suites that will be located in the Armani Residences. In addition, it will also offer eight unique dining experiences; Armani Privé, a hip and upscale lounge; and the world’s first in-hotel Armani Spa. There will also be a delicious Armani Dolci or sweet section featuring a yummy variety of Armani inspired chocolates and desserts.

After five years of construction and planning, such an ambitious and innovative concept is not without doubters. In a recent article, Armani told WWD how he was worried that the design might now appear outdated, “I’ve been working on this for five years. I’m finally going to see what I designed, and it’s a bit nerve-wracking to think that what I liked five years ago might look old now.”

Whether outdated or not, the Armani Hotel is a multimillion partnership between Armani and Emaar Properties. The hotel will surely become a landmark for the region not only because it is associated with an iconic designer, but because of its presence in the world’s tallest building. Dubai residents eagerly await the opening of this grand new addition to luxurious nightlife, leisure, and all-around sophistication.
