Mario Batali To Host Super Brunch

All-Star pitcher Jamie Moyer and wife Karen, and Crocs-sporting chef extraordinaire Mario Batali have teamed up to throw a Super Brunch on Saturday, February 6 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. poolside at Club 50 in the Miami Viceroy Hotel. Proceeds from the exclusive event will benefit The Moyer Foundation’s Camp Erin program and The Mario Batali Foundation.

The VIP event includes a Batali brunch, cocktails by Jimmy Buffet, demos by Lagassee and Batali, live entertainment by Jimmy Fallon and a silent auction benefiting the charities.

The Mario Batali Foundation was launched in 2008 and was established to feed, protect, educate and empower children, encouraging them to dream big while providing them with the necessary tools to become an active force for change in today’s world. The Moyer Foundation is dedicated to helping children address and deal with death.

How did Moyers get hooked up with Batali? It’s pretty sweet. When Moyer pitched in Seattle, he’d stop at the delicious cured meat spot called Salumi on his way to the ballpark, which is owned by Batali’s father.

Tickets are $1,000 per person and can be bought here. Looking to chow down Batali style on Super Bowl Sunday? Check out the mouth-watering lineup brought to you by Batali himself from serious eats:
