Harry Potter‘s author, JK Rowling purchased a 17th century mansion in Edinburgh after going through only two rooms out of the 31 rooms in the house. I guess she didn’t really care to see the other 29? The $4 million three-story property will be the new home to the 44-year old author, her husband, and their three children.
The 31 rooms include 13-bedrooms; a game room, and a bar with a view to a garden that was actually imported from France. Rowling even offered the owner an extra $492,000 for a 2-week vacating notice, because she really wanted to host a Christmas party there. So whether she just wanted to through a party for her, her family, and her fellow-scholars or if she just liked the fact that the home was located very close to her old residence, we don’t know. What we do know is that it must have been a wonderful holiday party.
