If you thought the glamping trend was long gone, think again. ‘Glamorous camping’ is making it’s New York City debut on the 17th floor of the luxurious W Hotel. In collaboration with interior design company Laurel & Wolf, the W Hotel has transformed their Extreme Wow Suite’s terrace into an urban glamping adventure.

Your private retreat in the sky, or Extreme Wow Outdoor Glamping Suite, is a 12-foot yurt dressed in a kaleidoscope of fabrics and textures, glowing lanterns, rattan hanging chairs and a fire pit that lights up with a flip of a switch. This is not a real fireplace, so don’t attempt to make s’mores. You can get those delivered. Nothing in New York would be complete without twinkling café lights, which surround your glamping ‘tent’ creating a romantic experience. Sleeping in a yurt in the middle of Manhattan will cost you a cool $2,00/per night. Other than the accommodation, you can add an additional $499 overnight package which includes a bottle of bubbles provided by the haute Veuve Clicquot and a premium design package from Laurel & Wolf.

“The glamping thing as a whole is a huge trend across hotels, especially in California,” Kimberly Winthrop, a senior interior designer with Laurel & Wolf, told Town & Country Magazine. “People love the idea of being outdoors but going camping is a lot of work. There is so much gear, and this is all the benefit without having to do any of the work.”

“It’s beautiful to see the contrast of the rustic design with the background of skyline behind it,” Lopez tells Town & Country Magazine. “Glamping is trendy, but where else can you do it in the middle of midtown?”

The yurt will be available for your glamping enjoyment through November. Reach out to Pablo Andres-Lopez via email at Pablo.lopez@whotels.com or at 212-407-2996 and mention GLAMPING to book your unique stay with the W Hotel.
