Taking place across all three days, “Meet d3” will also showcase partnerships with the brightest talents from the food and beverage industry to deliver a world class offering of restaurants and cafes ranging from hip haute dining to passionate street food fare. The line-up of award winning concepts provide a range of eating and drinking options; from cool contemporary European, Peruvian and Mexican street food, the freshest of sushi, Quebecois specialties and many more. Among the culinary highlights will be award winning restauranteur Mourad ‘MOMO’ Mazouz who will collaborate with pop artist and close friend Hassan Hajjaj to deliver a whimsical restaurant decked out with his signature style of recycled North African objects and pop-culture reference, creating an unforgettable experience to their own region.

In the area of fashion and taking place each day, a historical narrative of the Evolution of Emirati Dress will be told through an exhibition curated by Anthropology of Design from the book Sultani: Traditions Renewed by Dr. Reem El Mutwalli. This unique insight will be supported by the Dubai Design and Fashion Council (DDFC).  Supporting this will be panel discussions on the same subject hosted on Day Three. This story then transitions into the launch of the collaborative experimental project by Bint Thani x Inter | Act, the first ever 3D printed dress made in Dubai, at the Not Just A Label retail space at the event. With over 18,000 designers in over 100 countries globally, Not Just A Label (NJAL) is the global authority on discovering and nurturing emerging fashion talent. Its pavilion at the Dubai Design District will bring together a specially curated selection of designs and creativity.

Resid3nt, is a multi-brand concept presented at “Meet d3” by BRAG. It showcases and retails d3’s tenants and designers from across the region. The temporary structure will house over 30 participants whose work span across various retail, artisanal, accessory and lifestyle platforms. The line-up includes d3 residents such as bil 3rabi, Rula Galayini, Kage, Nathalie Trad, AOD and FMM by Fatma Al Mulla. Resid3nt will be open throughout “Meet d3”, April 2-4, 2015. Opening hours are 18:00-24:00 on Thursday and 14:00-24:00 on the weekend. Fashion PR firm Faux Consultancy will also bring together a unique fashion and retail concept while threeASFOUR will showcase a unique fashion installation as well as a reveal of their latest collection.

Design is interpreted across the three days in various forms for people to experience and enjoy at “Meet d3” – from installations such as “Wink Space” by Masakazu Shirane + Saya Miyazaki to the mysterious walk through “Project Lines” by Lebanese architects Ghaith & Jad. Visitors will be lead through diverse iterations of design and emotions – from selfie moments to musically designed moments.

Artist and designer Ebon Heath will be installing his unique typographic installation while international lighting brandLasvit will, for the first time in the region, undertake glass-blowing workshops to give visitors a truly sensorial introduction to the process of transforming raw glass into design lighting. There will also be specially commissioned furniture by local product designer Khalid Shafar alongside works from Magis provided by Superstudio, founded in 2012 by Mohsin Jawaheri.

This comprehensive program offers a taste into the wealth of creative entrepreneurship to be offering upon completion of the much-awaited d3.
