Celebrate fashion design and give back to the SF community at Unite SF on Wednesday, April 24, 2013.

Unite SF is an expression of San Francisco; a fashion design event taking place at The Conservatory of Flowers on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, celebrating the unique fusion between the design, fashion, technology and philanthropic community in SF.

Hosted by Topaz Page-Green and Rain Phoenix, the event will raise awareness of the emerging fashion designers and will raise awareness and funding for the Lunchbox Fund, which Page-Green started in 2005, a not-for-profit organization that raises awareness and funds to deliver food and feed children daily. Supporters include Joaquin Phoenix, Piper Perabo, Mario Batali, Salman Rushdie, Liv Tyler, Rosetta and Balthazar Getty.

At the show, these worlds will untie and merge together, in creating a showcase that not only is displayed down the “traditional” runway, but also in the technological worlds of Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

The fashion designers that will be presenting their work include three local fashion labels that have made a name for themselves in the Bay Area as well as fashion destinations including New York City:

Mansoor Scott – Sabah Mansoor Husain and Bethany Meuleners are the duo behind Mansoor Scotot, a contemporary knitwear collection that has previewed collections at the 2011 Mercedes Fashion Week in New York. Their current capsule collection includes custom knits with tailored design through the amalgamation of traditional crafts, old-world and artisan techniques. Mansoor Scott keeps to a refined standard by sourcing and importing quality European yarns and supporting the local community by maintaining production within California.

Tony Sananikone – The creator of Sounthavong, Tony has launched a collection of women’s clothing that is feminine yet powerful. Marrying different fabrics and textures, Tony captures a unique personality with each of his pieces, that effortlessly celebrates the sexiness of women. A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM), he has worked with some of the fashion industry’s biggest names both as a designer and stylist.

Justin Jamison – Justin is a new, yet celebrated designer who has recently graduated from The Art Institute of California, San Francisco with a BFA in Fashion Design and focus in Menswear.  A journey to Tokyo, Japan, along with a creative grandmother, instilled an insight to a new fashion culture that’s present in each of the men’s pieces he creates. He recently was featured in the fashion book, Essential Homme and will be showing his most recent Spring/Summer 2013 collection at Unite SF.
