Haute 100 Miami Update: Arlene Chaplin Named To Board of Trustees For New Perez Art Museum Miami

Arlene Chaplin, wife of Wayne Chaplin, has been recently given a seat on the new PAMM’s Board of Trustees. Originally the Miami Art Museum, the new Perez Art Museum will reopen in the fall of 2013 with multiple renovations. Featuring 32,000 square feet of galleries and 200,000 square feet of programmable space, the museum will be renamed in honor of developer and long-time museum trustee Perez for his $40 million gift to MAM of cash and art.

Chaplin graduated cum lade from the University of Miami in 1981 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Marketing and founder of YogArt, and an avid philanthropist through organizations such as the Honey Shine Mentor program and Make-a Wish Foundation.  She has also been a Founder at Mount Sinai Hospital, and has been actively involved with the Miami City Ballet. Also new to the board is Sylvia T. Pope, who is a member of the board of trustees for Prometheus Dance Cambridge, and was a founding member of Conservatoria de Danza and CONDA-Compania de Danza in Panama.
