Five Star Fashion Hotel to Open in Dubai

Fashion TV is launching an assault on the hospitality industry with the announcement of a joint venture with the Al Habtoor Group to create the world’s first Five Star Fashion Hotel.

On Friday, May 20, Michel Adam, President of Fashion TV global network, signed an agreement with Mohammed Al Habtoor, Vice Chairman and CEO of the Al Habtoor Group, to establish the five star hotel at the ‘Most Liked Model Awards’ ceremony at the Majestic Hotel in Cannes. Fashion TV has a global audience of more than 350 million households and the Al Habtoor Group are best known for its involvement in construction, hotel, automotive, real estate, education, insurance and publishing sectors.

Al Habtoor will own and operate the 5-star, 200-room ‘Fashion Hotel’ hotel, which will feature a 100-m (328-foot) LED screen on the exterior of the 30-story building broadcasting the latest Fashion TV highlights from around the globe.

Inside the hotel, all 30 of the Fashion TV network’s channels will be broadcast in guestrooms, and guests will also have access to a library of 50,000 DVDs related to the history of fashion. There are plans to open restaurants, bars, lounges, nightclubs, spas and cinemas inside the hotel. The Al Habtoor Group and Fashion TV plan to make it the first of a chain of Fashion Hotels in key fashion locations around the world–most likely to be in other fashion hubs such as Paris, Milan or Tokyo.

In line with the Fashion TV logo, the building will be constructed in the form of a rotated, extruded diamond, with guest rooms divided into four categories; silver, gold, platinum and diamond. The hotel is set for completion in 2014.
