Nothing Says Luxury Like a Dozen Little Cupcakes

My dad always said, “Give a man a fish, he’ll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, he’ll eat for a lifetime.” When I think of Butter Lane’s cupcake classes, that adage comes to mind. Why just buy great cupcakes when you can learn how to make them on your own instead?

For two to three hours, expert cupcake bakers at Butter Lane in the East Village teach 12-person groups how to make their signature sweets, using only the purest ingredients and French and American buttercream icing.

In the class, you’ll learn how to bake two of their cupcake recipes and mix the icing yourself, using their mixer and industrial-sized convection ovens. They also let you in on the ingredients that make their cupcakes so tasty and teach you great cupcake icing techniques.

When you’re done with this class though, you may not know exactly how to make these cupcakes at home. After all, they provide the equipment and ingredients, but you do get a great experience and a little bit more cupcake cooking know-how than you started out with.

So book early! The classes, held every day of the week, sell out fast.
