Patina Restaurant to Host Truffle Dinner Series

Forget Beaujolais Nouveau. Black Truffles est arrivée!

That’s right, black truffles are here in full effect. The season has arrived and its time to take advantage of this haute ingredient. Now, how to get your hands on the diamonds of the culianry world.

Well, as it turns out, the award-winning Patina Restaurant is sounding a serious earthy truffled trumpet. On January 11th and 12th, Patina is launching a truffle dinner series. If you haven’t already left your computer to make reservations, here’s what the series has in store.

Each evening will boast a selection of varied course meals from three to seven that diners can choose from where every dish served will highlight the truffle in all of its earthy goodness. The dinners are designed by four-star Executive Chef Tony Esnault’s truffled creations with dishes such as a black truffle peasant salad, an artichoke ravioli with soft egg and truffled emulsion, milk-fed veal tenderloin with crushed truffles, and butter-poached lobster with salsify, spinach, truffles and jus de presse. Even the dessert features truffles with caramelized brioche, Bartlett pear, and pecan, brown butter and truffled sorbet. Delish.

But that’s not all. Christopher Poron, truffle expert from the Plantin Truffle Company in France, will be on hand to discuss the truffle in all its glory as well as field truffle questions from inquiring minds tableside with Patina guests.

And to kick off the truffled celebration, Patina is giving away a dinner for two. To enter the contest click here. I hope you don’t beat me to it. Talk about winning the lotto.
