Nicky Hilton Launches Jewelry Line

Nicky Hilton has announced the release of her new jewelry line. The 26-year-old socialite has previously worked in fashion, teaming up with the Japanese line Samantha Thavasa to design handbags, as well as an attempt to launch her own clothing line, named Chick by Nicky Hilton. With those two experiences on her resume, she is now aiming to introduce herself to the world as a jewelry designer.

The collection is a monochromatic assortment of rings, cuffs, bracelets, and earrings.  The silver jewelry is punctuated with bedazzled pieces and organic stones. Hilton has chosen to split the line into three categories: Art Deco, Spike, and Snake.  She helped draw inspiration for her jewelry from the large David Webb jewelry collection belonging to her mother and grandmother.

When speaking with WWD, she told the magazine, “I’m a crazy jewelry collector. I’ve always known since I was a teenager that I wanted to do a line.  Whenever I bought something, whether at a flea market in Paris or a bazaar in India, I’ve been collecting pieces.”

She has teamed up with Titan Brands to launch this line of baubles with price points of the pieces to fall between $35 and $480 with a medium price point of about $200. The pieces are not all together original, but the classic designs and affordable price point will definitely be excellent selling points.

The line will be released in the fall of 2010 and is to be initially exclusively sold on Endless.com, so keep your eye out for her collection.
