What Made Him Haute: The rapper/record producer and executive sold his first beat when he was just 17, and it became DMX’s hit single Ruff Ryders Anthem. The multi-talented Beatz is also a painter, collector, CEO, entrepreneur, father, and even the United Nation’s Music Ambassador for World Peace.
What Makes Him Haute Now: The hot entertainer is about to drop one haute album. The rapper, producer, executive extraordinaire has his hands full with naming, from baby names to album titles, taking to his Twitter page last night to announce his new album title, Haute Living. The third time’s the charm for Swizz Beatz, whose album was previously denominated The Perception of Greatness, and King Issues. The Grammy-winner chose the haute title “because that’s [his] art, fashion, music, lifestyle.” He urges his listeners to “get with the haute life!”
The hip-hop artist signed with Everest Entertainment and Atlantic Warner Records earlier this month, parting ways with his former label, Universal Motown. His second solo album is set to hit stores and the World Wide Web later this fall, just around the time that he and Alicia Keys expect their baby’s arrival. Collaborations with influential players in the music industry, including Jay-Z, John Legend, Lil Wayne, Drake, T.I., Snoop Dogg, Kanye West, André 3000, Mary J. Blige, Coldplay, Beyoncé, and his new wife are already in place. Haute Living (the magazine) approves.
