Haute Event: Miss Universe Jimena Navarrete and Contestants Celebrate at LAX
Eighty-three contestants took the stage at Mandalay Bay last night to vie for the Miss Universe crown. Miss Mexico Jimena Navarrete ended the evening winning the title of Miss Universe 2010, crowned by Miss Universe 2009 Stefania Fernandez.
Afterward, all of the contestants celebrated with an after party at LAX Nightclub at Luxor Las Vegas. The radiant Navarrete was still overwhelmed by her victory as she walked the carpet. Navarrete was a huge hit among the many Hispanics in the crowd.
After promising to promote her home country at the pageant, Navarrete posed in LAX with sash and tiara triumphantly raising her arms in front of an oversized Mexican flag.
From the moment she arrived, Navarrete was mobbed by hundreds of well-wishers. She responded by waving to the crowd, blowing kisses and posing for photo after photo with guests.
Navarrete was joined inside by Miss Universe hosts multi-platinum rocker and winner of season three of “The Celebrity Apprentice” Bret Michaels; Natalie Morales, NBC “Today” show co-host correspondent; actor Chazz Palminteri; illusionist Criss Angel and musical act The Roots.
Also in attendance was last year’s Miss Universe, Stefania Fernandez.
The Miss Universe VIPs enjoyed Trump Vodka, Jose Cuervo Platino Tequila and Champagne.
