On Sunday, Feb. 27, while the 83rd annual Academy Awards were taking place, another equally important event was happening across town–the 19th annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party. The event, hosted by Sir Elton John himself, along with partner David Furnish, Chopard jewelry and Jo & Raffy Manoukian. The lavish affair was held at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood and catered to all A-listers who didn’t make it to the award show this year.

I asked my longtime friend Pamela Huizenga what inspires her, who inspires her and to share with us her jewelry and gemstones. On Thursday, February 24th, New York City celebrated a tremendous cause. Harbouring Hearts, a 501(c)(3) established in 2009 by Michelle Javian and Yuki Kotani; implemented their first annual fundraiser at the Rubin Museum of Art in downtown Manhattan. On Sunday, the California Film Institute (CFI) hosted its 17th annual Oscar Night at Christopher B. Smith Rafael Film Center to watch the 83rd Academy Awards. More than 600 guests attended this fund-raising event for the CFI's education fund. I bought ten tickets and shared the event with friends and clients.
