With the annual Miami swim shows just a few weeks away, it’s the perfect time to look at this year’s haute hair trends of the stars of the show. From Rocky Barnes to Shanina Shaik, Stella Maeve and Boyko Alina, all these celebs flaunt the straight-off-the-beach waves from poolside to runway. For expert tips on how to perfect this look, celebrity stylist Danny Jelaca of Danny Jelaca Salon gave some insight.
He recently styled swimsuit model Rocky Barnes for a Nicole Miller shoot at the Edition Hotel, perfecting her hair with natural, soft beach waves to complete the look.
Whether you’re styling yourself or going to a salon, Jelaca confirms that the two best ways to achieve this look come from using a flat iron or curling iron, each creating a slightly different style to the beach wave look.
For longer, slimmer curls, use the flat iron and carefully twist the iron around each section of hair while tightly pulling down. This type of wave is perfect for those seeking less volume. If you’re looking for something with more volume and energy, use the curling iron and follow the same technique.
