Five years ago, Harvard grad Katharina Harf left a career in the fashion and financial industries to co-found DKMS Americas with her father, Peter Harf. As the co-founder and executive vice president of the fastest growing bone marrow donor center in the United States she has led the organization to register close to 100,000 bone marrow donors, and as a result has matched more than 1,000 donors with patients in need. Katharina?s determination to recruit as many donors as possible so that one day all leukemia and other blood cancer patients find their life-saving match, comes from losing her mother to leukemia, at the young age of 14.
