Rebuilt Wilshire Grand Hotel Set to be Second Tallest Building in LA
Developer Korean Air has sky-high plans for the rebuilt Wilshire Grand, but it will only be the second tallest building in Los Angeles, shadowed by the 1,018 U.S. Bank Tower.
The 70-story Wilshire Grand will have space for over 900 hotel rooms with the lobby on the top floor. The first seven floors will house restaurants, shops and ballrooms while the next 20 stories will be spaced for offices. The new design is still on the discussion table as Korean Air and their LA based partners, architect, A.C. Martin have not come to terms with a concrete layout.
But one thing is certain; the building will be stocked with LED lights making the tower look ultra futuristic and bright.
Demolition of the Wilshire begins this summer and the new tower is expected to finish by 2017.
