Building Artist Communities with ARTLAB – A Call for Artists

What is an artist community and why is it important

Artists helping artists is a movement that has been around for centuries. It is a way for artists to help other artists, whether through financial aid, moral support, artistic inspiration or feedback, or simply offering advice. The idea of artists helping artists is not new. In fact, it dates back centuries. One of the most famous friendships is between Van Gogh and Gauguin. Today, the idea of artists helping artists is more important than ever. With the ever-changing landscape of the art world, it is becoming increasingly difficult for artists to make a living off their craft. Many galleries and museums are struggling to stay afloat, and as a result, fewer and fewer opportunities are available for artists. Furthermore, in a globalized world, the art industry has become increasingly international, with artists and galleries from all over the world working together. This has led to a more diverse range of art as different cultures and traditions are brought together. It has also made the art market more accessible to people worldwide, as they can buy and sell artworks online.

Building an artist community is essential to the success of any artist. Connecting with other artists can create a support network offering advice, mentorship, and collaboration opportunities. Additionally, being a part of a community can help you stay motivated and inspired and provide a space to share your work with others. If you’re looking to build an artist community, there are a few things you can do: reach out to local artists, attend art events and meetups, or join an artist collective. Regardless of your route, remember that the most important thing is connecting with like-minded people who will help you grow as an artist.

Help with commercial strategy

Regardless of the reason for its formation, a collective of artists can be a powerful force in the art world, giving its members a louder voice and a greater reach than they would have on their own. Equally important is finding the right commercial mentors. Some of these mentors are more successful than others, but all of them can provide helpful advice and guidance. The most important thing for artists is finding a mentor willing to invest the time and effort necessary to help them reach their goals. A good mentor will help an artist to develop a business plan, identify opportunities, and overcome obstacles.

Artists need to be able to commercialize their work to make a living. This is not easy, as many artists are unfamiliar with the business side of things. There are a few key things that artists can do to increase their chances of success when commercializing their work. First, artists should ensure their work is high quality and marketable. This means creating work that is appealing to potential buyers and is priced appropriately. Second, artists should create a strong branding strategy. This involves creating a recognizable brand that potential customers can easily remember and associate with your work.  Finally, artists should have a good marketing plan in place. This plan should include strategies for promoting your work and reaching your target audience.

For many artists, this can be overwhelming and take away from the creative process. This is where digital galleries like ARTLAB come in. Digital art galleries are an excellent way for artists to showcase their work and connect with potential buyers. By creating an online presence, artists can reach a wider audience and sell their work without needing a physical gallery space. In addition to selling art, digital galleries can also promote upcoming exhibitions and events or share news and updates with fans and followers. By providing a platform for artists to connect with their audience, digital galleries play an essential role in supporting the arts community.

ARTLAB is not just a commercial platform but also a collective of artists and change-makers. Since its inception, ARTLAB has sold products to more than 40,000 customers in more than 100 countries worldwide. In their first month, ARTLAB signed more than 30 artists. These artists include Marco Michelini (Myfo), Jenny Perez, Nick Sabatalo, RizRizRizz, Reif Myers, Cedric Bourre, Luca Valerio D’Amico, Joca Torres, Harry Cartwright, Benjamin Smith, Filipe Mariano, Henrik Becker, Mederic Turay, Sebastien Cheramy, Olivia Collins and many more.

Their highly skilled talent scouts are looking for new and emerging artists to mentor and provide a platform that helps artists monetize their artwork. This is done by finding new talent and bringing them to the attention of people who can help them, such as art dealers or gallery owners. It can also involve helping an artist to develop their career by providing guidance, marketing, and distribution support.

In addition to exhibiting the collection, the artists are supported by marketing experts that help distribute work to a broad target audience, including influencers, the press, publications, retail distribution, and affiliate networks. They also provide technical and logistical services, such as manufacturing, packing, shipping, and other tasks. This puts the artist’s minds at ease, allowing them to only focus on producing their best work.

Interviewing the Founder Vincenzo Martorana Genuardi, he said: ”Artlab was born out of my own passion for art and the desire to provide a platform for creative entrepreneurs to market and distribute their work globally. Along the way, I met some brilliant artists who had no real viable and sustainable way to get their work known. I know how hard it is for artists to commercialize their businesses without jeopardizing the focus of their work. Some artists don’t have the bandwidth or the expertise. Our goal is simple, we are here to support the artist and promote the art”.

Interviewing the COO Kavin Bakhda, he said:” in order to build a truly sustainable business there has to be a credible balance between the creative and the commercial. My goal is not only to ensure the business is commercially sustainable but that the artists are getting paid, our investors are happy, and most importantly consumers are loving their art.”

Collectives can be formed for various reasons, including to further the careers of its members, provide a space for collaboration and networking, or create a community of like-minded individuals. Regardless of the reason for its formation, a collective of artists can be a powerful force in the art world, giving its members a louder voice and a greater reach than they would have on their own.
