Joyce Rey’s Blog: My 3 Favorite Yoga Teachers

Check out the list of my favorite Yoga instructors and classes

  • Satya

Wonderful studio in the valley and provides private Kundalini yoga classes at Yoga by the Sea

Satya has studied the sacred science of Kundalini Yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan, since 1990, healing a serious personal injury through this ancient tradition. She is an internationally certified Kundalini Yoga teacher, a certified healer in the Sat Nam Rasayan Tradition, and holds a Masters degree in Psychology. She draws on these qualities and on her background as a professional athlete to make her classes reach the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels.

Satya’s Yoga classes are very meditative in nature, designed to gain strength, increase flexibility, promote healing, and deepen your spiritual practice. The gong and crystal bowl meditation at the end of each class takes you into a state of deep relaxation.

A Note From Satya : With deep appreciation and gratitude, I wish to thank all the people involved in creating this Kundalini Yoga Center. A special thank you to my teacher, Guru Dev Singh, for his depth of compassion, his kindness, his patience and his unwavering support. And most of all I give my heartfelt gratitude and deepest respect to Yogi Bhajan for giving us all his heart, his spirit, and this wonderful treasure of Kundalini Yoga.

  • Barbara Simon

Barbara teaches classes at Michael Kohn Art Gallery, specializing in Hatha Yoga.

Barbara is not your average yoga teacher. She is a healer who has been sharing her special gifts, expertise and passion for yoga with celebrity, executive and other private and public students for over twenty-five years.

Her healing gifts help people reduce stress, achieve greater flexibility, develop a deeper spiritual connection, and establish appreciation for their body, regardless of experience or fitness level. Her kind, loving and accepting nature makes her wildly popular with students; some of whom have studied with her for decades.
